Medals and Awards

Each year the Textile Institute, Sri Lanka section awards 8 prestigious medals to students. They will be chosen based on their performance in the final examination by the respective university and institute.
1. Ranjith Tennakoon Gold Medal – Awarded to the best student of the National Diploma in Technology (Textiles) course of the Institute of Technology, University of Moratuwa.
2. L S Wanigatunga Memorial Medal – Awarded to the best student of the Bachelor of Design and Product Development course of the Department of Textile & Clothing, University of Moratuwa.
3. D P Gunawardana Gold Medal – Awarded to the best student of the Diploma in Textile Technology course conducted by Sri Lanka Institute Textile and Apparel.
4. Albert Thenuwara Memorial Medal – Awarded to the best student of the Bachelor of Design course of the Faculty of Architecture, University of Moratuwa.
5. The Textile Institute Sri Lanka Section Gold medal – Awarded to the best student of the Bachelor of Engineering (Textiles) course of the University of Moratuwa.
6. The Textile Institute Sri Lanka Section Gold medal – Awarded to the best student of the Bachelor of Industrial Studies (Textiles) course of the Open University of Sri Lanka.
7. The Textile Institute Sri Lanka Section Gold medal – Awarded to the best student of the Bachelor of Applied Science in Textile Technology course of RMIT University, Australia.
8. Anura De Silva Gold medal – Awarded to the best student of the Diploma in Textiles and Apparel Technology course of the Open University of Sri Lanka.

Hall of Eminence Award
Inaugurated in 2017. Presented to recognize valuable contribution to the Textile Institute Sri Lanka Section and to the Textile Industry in Sri Lanka – awarded to Mr. E Pararajasingham in 2017
